Welcome to IT management! In the All Green Series, I am reviewing every category Limetree Labs looks at for our customer’s IT health. If you missed the intro, check it out here.
Category 1 – IT Management
The first category we score is IT Management. This is the high-level service and strategy provided by your IT Director. As a result, each one of our clients has a dedicated IT Director that manages the service delivery and your IT environment. In contrast, we don’t subscribe to the “break-fix” mentality. Meaning, we don’t wait for you to call us if something goes wrong. On a consistent basis, your IT Director is partnering with you and your organization as a senior member of your staff. This is accomplished through regular on-site visits, Lime & Learn training sessions, and general IT strategy for your business.
On-Site Visits
Even with Limetree Labs’ standard monthly service, our IT Directors schedule on-site visits on a regular basis. We know of other IT service companies who avoid an on-site visit like the plague. We’ve found there there are just too many opportunities to identify workflow inefficiencies and build relationships with our customers to not be committed to being on-site often. Unfortunately, most IT Service companies will wait until you call them or have an emergency before they will ever set foot in your office.
Quarterly Review
Limetree Labs is proactive about your IT strategy. As a result, each quarter we will review your IT environment with your key staff. In this meeting, your IT Director will review your IT health, share any opportunities, and identify risks.
IT Roadmap
Part of being a strategic IT partner, rather than just a reactive break-fix shop, is planning for the future. With this in mind, we work with our customers to create an IT roadmap that supports the business’ goals and growth. The roadmap can include everything from infrastructure to security to integrations.
IT Policies
As part of your standard monthly service, your IT Director will ensure that your company has up-to-date IT policies. This can include computer use, on-boarding/off-boarding, and IT security policies. These policies are important not only to protect the organizations, but look out for employees as well.
Needs Assessment
With needs assessment, the focus is all on the users: your staff. As a result, each role in your organization can require different software and tools. Our job is to identify those needs and work to optimize each person’s workflow and environment. As a result, the amount of time-savings created through these activities can save the organizations thousands of dollars each quarter.
Project Health
Beyond the monthly service, often times organizations plan for projects to enhance their IT environment. These projects can focus on security, efficiency by updating equipment, and keeping up with industry technology advancements. We ensure that projects are scheduled and completed on time.
In closing, the IT Management category of our service is imperative. Say good-bye to the revolving door of low-level techs managing your IT environment. Stop wasting your time having to beg and plead with your IT service to respond to IT issues that are negatively impacting your organization.
