Welcome to device health! In the All Green Series, I am reviewing each category Limetree Labs looks at for our customer’s IT health. If you missed the other posts, check them out here:
Category 5 – Device Health
The fifth category we score is Device Health. Your devices include everything from your desktop computer to your laptop to your smart phone. Our goal is to ensure your devices are running at their top capacity. We will advise on any new product recommendations for out-dated equipment that is impacting your efficiency.
Hardware Health
The personal computers and smartphones that you and your staff use everyday can make a big difference in your productivity. We check to see that the hardware is sufficient for each staff member’s role. Improving the performance doesn’t always mean buying brand new equipment. Many times, we can make small part updates to more than triple the speed and storage on your computer or device.
OS Health & Performance
OS, or operating system, Health and Performance are key elements to not pulling your hair out every time you turn on your computer. We want to ensure that all of your devices are set up with the best operating system for each model. Part of performance is checking to see that your memory isn’t full which can impact your speed. Lastly, we will see that the right programs are installed and that unused programs are removed to increase performance.
OS Updates
Keeping your operating system up-to-date is imperative to guarding your network and systems against hackers. Not only do updates improve performance, they often times include security patches for newly discovered vulnerabilities. Protecting your environment against hackers and other security risks is a battle that requires ongoing monitoring.
Program Health & Performance
Beyond your operating system are all of the programs or software you use on your device. Reviewing these programs on a consistent basis can make a big difference in your staff’s efficiency. We partner with you to select the best software solutions for your team and their workflows. From there, we monitor the programs for security and speed health.
Today, most organizations run on technology. Instead of cobbling together equipment and software for your staff, why not bring in a pro? The amount of frustration, time, and money we can save you will more than pay for itself. Technology is always changing and improving, but that doesn’t mean you can’t feel confident about how its used in your business. We are committed to educating our clients and speaking clearly about technology. There is a better way and technology does not have to be the enemy!
